An air Conditioner is supposed to last a homeowner many years before it needs to be fixed or replaced. In the best of circumstances, it is not uncommon for someone to get fifteen to twenty years out of their air conditioner before it needs to be replaced, but this is not always the case. This is only if someone keeps up with regular maintenance of the air conditioning system. When it comes to Ac maintenance, Spring Hill residents should be let know that there are some aspects that they can take care of themselves, without the need to call a professional ac company to come out and correct the issues.
Changing Air Filters
One of the easiest things that a homeowner can do to increase the longevity of their air conditioning system is to make sure they are regularly replacing the air filters in their home. This is not something that is usually taken care of when someone calls a professional air conditioning company for regular Ac maintenance. Spring Hill residents should be made aware that these filters should be changed every six months to a year deepening on the conditions of the home, such as how many animals are present in the home or if any of the members of the household have respiratory issues such as COPD or asthma.
Cleaning out the Outside Condenser Unit
Many people are consistent with keeping up to date with the few maintenance issues on the inside of a home, but it is just as important to take care of the outside of home when it comes to Ac maintenance. Spring Hill residents need to be aware how important it is for them to keep track of the condenser unit on the outside of their home, and make sure that it is cleaned and clear of debris. It is not uncommon for yard debris such as grass clipping and leaves to get into the condenser unit, and if enough debris does pile up, it can cause issues for the whole system.
